On the afternoon of April 18, 2025, a unique cultural exchange event - Youth Mo Chou Jinling Cultural Experience Tour for Chinese and Foreign Students - was successfully held in Nanjing Mo Chou Lake Park. This event was carefully planned and organized by the Party Branch of the Basic Education Department (jointly organized by the state), with 4 Party member teachers serving as the team leaders. The event attracted 56 international students from over ten countries, including Russia, Tajikistan, and Thailand, to participate enthusiastically. They walked hand in hand with 12 Chinese students from our school's Youth League Committee, immersing themselves in the unique cultural and natural landscape of Lake Mochou.
At the beginning of the event, Wang Fang, the homeroom teacher and party member teacher of international students, explained to Chinese and foreign students in front of the Mochou Water Institute the historical origins of Mochou Lake, the first scenic spot in Jinling. The international students showed a strong interest in this lake that carries the millennium cultural heritage of Nanjing. During the tour around the lake, teachers and students stopped to admire historical sites such as Shengqi Tower and Baoyue Tower. By the lotus pond in the Lotus Viewing Hall next to Yujintang, Teacher Shi Jigang specially told the legend of the Mo Chou Woman, allowing international students to experience the unique cultural charm of Mo Chou Lake.
At the lakeside square, international students are practicing the Chinese intangible cultural heritage technique of playing diabolo with great interest. They follow the guidance of their teachers and strive to master the skills of playing diabolo. The scene is filled with laughter and a strong atmosphere of cultural exchange.
This immersive cultural experience provides a vivid classroom for international students to tell Chinese stories well, and also builds an international exchange platform for Chinese and foreign students. Chinese and foreign students who participated in the activity expressed their anticipation for more cultural experience activities and continued to explore the historical context of Nanjing.
