On the afternoon of April 2nd, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Automotive Engineering jointly held the Qingming Festival: Remembering Liu Yuan and Talking about Spring Harmony Chinese cultural experience activity. More than 20 international students from 8 countries including Russia, Bangladesh, and Morocco deeply appreciated the life philosophy and Eastern wisdom carried by the Qingming Festival through cultural tracing and folk practices.
At the beginning of the event, the teachers analyzed the origin of the ban on fire and cold food during the Cold Food Festival, starting from the allusion of Jie Zitui's cutting off the thigh to serve the emperor in the Spring and Autumn Period. At the same time, combined with the imagery of rain pouring down during the Qingming Festival in Tang and Song poetry, the Chinese concept of life, which combines tomb sweeping and ancestor worship with hiking and kite flying, is explained, and the cultural context of Qingming Festival is systematically sorted out.
In the practical session, Chinese and foreign students transformed into spring craftsmen together, drawing kites and weaving willow branches. Under the sunshine, nimble kites ran freely, swaying willow branches rustled, and traditional culture matched with laughter and joy. Dima, a Uzbek student, expressed his feelings: We should be grateful when we celebrate the dead, and embrace the new when we release paper kites. This is the profound understanding of the life cycle of the Chinese people!
The college will continue to build the cultural brand of China in the Solar Terms, and plans to carry out a series of activities such as making Dragon Boat Festival sachets and collecting Mid Autumn Festival poems. Through immersive education that is touchable, interactive, and extensible, it will promote exchanges between Chinese and foreign students, empower international students to tell Chinese stories well, and actively spread Chinese culture.
