On the afternoon of December 25, the online opening ceremony of the “Chinese + Skills” training course of NJTC-UZNSS was held in the meeting room B203 of the library. Wang Daofeng, President of NJTC, and Wen Aimin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Zainadin Khudaybodiev, Director of Vocational Education Development Center of Uzbekistan, Golibujiang Botirov, Rector of the University of Natural and Social Sciences, Chen Wensheng, Director of the University, and Shakraod Khudaybodiev, Vice Rector of the University, were present at the ceremony; and Zheng Xing, Grade 3 Researcher of the Division of Foreign Affairs and Cooperative Exchanges of the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province, made a video message for the Opening Ceremony. Teachers and students of relevant colleges in China and Ukraine attended the opening ceremony in Nanjing and Tashkent respectively. The event was presided over by Wen Aimin, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee.
At the opening ceremony, President Wang Daofeng delivered an enthusiastic speech, highlighting the history of the school, the characteristics of cultivating talents with transportation technology and skills, and the achievements of internationalization of the school. He emphasized the significance of “Chinese + Skills” in enhancing the exchange of vocational education between the two countries and cultivating skilled talents with international vision, and said that the university would fully support the work of the China-Uzbekistan Cooperation Program to ensure the smooth progress of the program and achieve the expected results.
Rector Golibujiang of Uzbekistan University of Natural and Social Sciences said that this cooperation will provide a valuable opportunity for young students of Uzbekistan to learn Chinese language and master advanced technology of China; he expects that this training can further deepen the friendship between the two countries; and he wished all the trainees to cherish the opportunity and make great efforts to learn Chinese language and professional skills.
Mr. Zainaldin, Director of Vocational Education Development Center of Uzbekistan, congratulated the opening of this training course on “Chinese + Skills” and systematically introduced the current development and future trend of vocational education in Uzbekistan. He emphasized the importance of learning the advanced experience of Chinese vocational education for the development of Uzbekistan's vocational education and expressed his full support for the cooperation between the two universities.
Zheng Xing of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Department of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, in his speech, affirmed and supported the cooperation between the two schools. He pointed out that this training course is another important achievement of the cooperation between Jiangsu Province and Uzbekistan in the field of vocational education, and another effective initiative of Nanjing Transportation Vocational and Technical College to promote the construction of “Zheng He College”. He hoped that the two sides could take this opportunity to deepen the cooperation content and broaden the cooperation field, so as to cultivate talents with international vision for the promotion of social development and economic construction.
After the opening ceremony, the first training course of “Chinese + Bridge and Tunnel Engineering” started as scheduled. The curriculum of this series of “Chinese + Bridge and Tunnel Engineering” was formed after many discussions between the two sides, and the content was set up in accordance with the business needs of the local companies in the destination countries as well as the professional basis of the trainees. Six teachers from the School of Road, Bridge and Harbor Engineering and the School of Transportation Management of the university prepared the courses meticulously, and adopted the method of on-line practical exercises of the practical training skills points and theory lectures. Six teachers from the School of Road and Bridge Engineering and the School of Transportation Management of the University carefully prepared the course, which was conducted in the way of on-line practical exercises and theoretical explanations of practical training skill points, and the teachers systematically introduced the practical training skill points of tunnel construction and inspection, engineering safety, shield structure and foundation pit, full-section tunnel boring, and intelligent construction site, etc. The course was vividly visualized and had a strong sense of participation, and it was well received by the students.
At the opening ceremony, teachers and international students of the university opened the program with a wonderful calligraphy and painting recitation performance “Poems Written on the Silk Road”, wishing the friendship between China and Uzbekistan to be unceasing and far-reaching, and building a beautiful vision of educational cooperation on the “Belt and Road”. Representatives of students from the University of Natural and Social Sciences of Uzbekistan actively expressed their desire to learn Chinese language and advanced technology in China, and especially their expectation of coming to Nanjing to participate in the program in the future.
