On the afternoon of November 25, the opening ceremony of 2024 international students was held in Room B203 of the library. Wen Aimin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, attended the ceremony, and relevant persons in charge of the Party Committee Propaganda Department, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Academic Affairs Office, Academic Engineering Office and secondary faculties and departments, representatives of teachers, all staff of the Office of International Cooperation and current international students of Class 2024 attended the ceremony on the spot; representatives of teachers of Gizak National Institute of Technology and all new students of Class 2024 attended the opening ceremony online, and the event was presided over by Yuan Qian, minister of the Party Committee Propaganda Department. The event was hosted by Yuan Qian, Minister of Party Committee Propaganda Department.
The event was synchronized online and offline, and the freshmen introduced themselves enthusiastically through the short video “This is me”, showing a positive outlook.
Uzbekistan teacher representative Utkilhon Rakhmatov shared his love for Chinese culture and encouraged the freshmen to cherish the learning opportunity and broaden their international vision. Liu Yiguan, the teacher representative of the School of Automotive Engineering, warmly welcomed the international students and encouraged them to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and become a bridge of friendship between China and foreign countries. Li Mei (Laos), the representative of old students, shared her study experience and growth story, and encouraged the new students to communicate bravely. Representatives of new students, Beauty (Morocco) and Isobek Yegambeganov (Uzbekistan), expressed their heartfelt thanks for the study opportunities provided by the College and promised to make great efforts to learn Chinese language and culture, as well as to share the culture of their own countries to promote mutual understanding and friendship.
During the awards ceremony, Deputy Secretary Wen Aimin, Director Wang Hongxing of the Academic Affairs Department and Deputy Director Chen Yong of the Academic Affairs Department presented the Jiangsu Government Scholarship for Studying Abroad, Learning Scholarship, Enterprise Scholarship, Freshman Scholarship, and HSK Scholarship respectively, to recognize the excellence and to motivate the way forward.
Deputy Secretary Wen Aimin highly evaluated the importance of international education, expressed sincere welcome to international students, and sent three expectations: first, cherish the time, study hard, and become an outstanding talent with international vision; second, actively integrate, enhance exchanges, and jointly create a harmonious and inclusive cultural atmosphere on campus; and third, be courageous to take on the role of contributing to the industry, and contributing to the development of the transportation industry.
Before the opening ceremony, the college also organized a unique “Chinese traditional culture experience - blind box adventure” lucky draw tasting activities. In addition, the ceremony also held the appointment ceremony of the second class teacher for international students and launched the theme activity of “Don't forget the original heart and dedicate red love, join hands in pairing to help international education”. Guo Rongmei, Director of the Department of Basic Teaching (Office of International Cooperation and Exchange), awarded the appointment certificates to the second class teachers to help international students' education and development together.
