On 12 November, Shahid Zaman, Chief Operating Officer of Punjab TEVTA the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Pan Hongfeng, Deputy General Manager of China Education and Enjoyment Science and Technology Company Limited, and other seven persons came to the university for inspection and exchange talks. Wang Daofeng, President of the college, Wen Aimin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Yuan Xi, Director of the Party Committee Propaganda Department, and relevant persons in charge of the School of Automotive Engineering and the Office of International Co-operation and Exchanges participated in the exchange talks. The meeting was hosted by Wen Aimin, deputy secretary of the Party committee.
At the meeting, President Wang Daofeng expressed his warm welcome to the visit of Mr Shahid Zaman, Chief Operating Officer, and his delegation. He said that China and Pakistan, as friendly neighbours, have a broad space for cooperation and development potential in the field of vocational education, and this exchange seminar is a useful initiative to deepen the cooperation between China and Pakistan in the field of vocational education, and he expects that all parties in the cooperation will complement each other's resources and form a synergy, so as to promote the cooperation in the field of vocational education in transportation and achieve substantive results, and to promote the exchanges and understandings between young people of the two countries.
COO Shahid Zaman thanked the school for the warm reception and introduced the operation of vocational colleges and universities in Punjab, expressing the need for Pakistan to train local engineers and talents. He hoped that the two sides would promote the cooperation projects in teacher training, training base construction, humanistic exchanges and other aspects as soon as possible, and carry out cooperation and exchanges in the construction of new energy automobile speciality and talent cultivation.
Representatives of the Pakistani side, representatives of CECC and relevant functional departments of the university conducted in-depth discussions on specific matters such as the construction of overseas branch campuses, skills training for teachers and students, sharing of teaching resources as well as learning of Chinese language and culture respectively.
Before the meeting, Shahid Zaman and his entourage visited the practical training centre of the School of Automotive Engineering and spoke highly of the construction of practical training places and campus environment of the school.
