The 25th Annual Conference on International Education in China was held at China National Convention Center in Beijing from October 31st to November 2nd. 15 vocational colleges were awarded the Certificate of Quality Accreditation for International Students Studying in China, and Minister Yuan Xi received the certificate on behalf of the college. At the conference, Shi Yunyu, Director of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Department of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, made a keynote report, introducing in detail the series of initiatives and achievements of Jiangsu Province in promoting the quality and efficiency of education for international students, expanding the scale and improving the attractiveness. In the report, Director Shi Yunyu introduced our university's service for international production capacity cooperation and ‘going out’ enterprises, and the cooperation with Jiangsu Jiaotong Group, Su Jiaotong Group and other famous enterprises to open ‘Road and Bridge International Engineer Class’, ‘Port and Naval Architect Class’, and the cooperation between the university and enterprises to open ‘Road and Bridge International Engineer Class’ and ‘Port and Naval Architect Class’. ‘School-enterprise cooperation to jointly formulate talent training programmes, develop professional courses, organise practical teaching, to achieve ‘enrolment is recruitment, enrolment is employment, graduation is employment’, the order class students directly into the overseas construction projects after graduation, to provide enterprises with human resources protection for overseas construction, which is highly praised by the enterprises. The college has been highly praised by enterprises.
In recent years, the college actively serves the ‘going out’ enterprises, goes out to the sea in a group with enterprises, carries out overseas education, and builds ‘Jing Shi Xue Tang’ in Lanna, Thailand, ‘Zhenghe-Baofeng Shipyard’ in Brunei, and ‘Zhenghe-Baofeng Shipyard’ in Beijing, and ‘Zhenghe-Baofeng Shipyard’ in Shanghai. We have built ‘Zheng He - Treasure Ship Workshop’ in Lanna of Thailand, ‘Zheng He College’ in Brunei, and ‘Zheng He College’ with Nanjing University of Engineering, explored the new mode of cultivating international students and improved the quality of international students' cultivation; set up the international engineer class, and sent teachers to go abroad; and carried out the “Chinese + Skills” programme. The annual conference lasted for four days, and the theme of the conference was ‘Chinese + Skills’, which is to cultivate local technical and skilled talents for ‘going out’ enterprises.
This year's conference lasted for four days, with the theme of ‘Education: For Everyone, For the Unknown, For the Future’, and set up six sections, including the plenary session, CACIE night, parallel forums, and cooperation negotiations, attracting more than 5,000 Chinese and foreign educators, officials from embassies and consulates of China and representatives of enterprises from more than 60 countries and regions around the world to participate in the conference.
