On the morning of July 29th, the Transportation Vocational Education · Intelligent Creation Future exchange and sharing session of the Enjoying Reading Jinling and Appreciating Transportation cultural experience series of cross-strait university students organized by the college was held in Conference Room 223 of Hongyi Building. More than 40 teachers and students from Taiwan's Longhua University of Science and Technology, Taipei Ocean Science and Technology University, Jiangsu Vocational and Technical College of Economics and Trade, and our university attended the exchange and sharing meeting. The sharing session was chaired by Wen Aimin, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee.
Before the sharing meeting, Secretary Zhang Yi and Dean Wang Daofeng warmly met with President Ge Zixiang of Longhua University of Science and Technology and Vice President Wu Zhaozhe of Taipei Ocean University in Room 311 of Hongyi Building. Both sides held discussions and exchanges on educational philosophy, talent cultivation, cooperation and exchange. Wen Aimin, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, and Yuan Qian, Minister of Party Committee Propaganda, attended the symposium. Souvenirs were exchanged between schools.
Zhang Yi, Secretary of the College Party Committee, delivered a welcome speech. He first expressed a warm welcome to the Taiwanese teachers and students who came from afar, introducing the school's educational characteristics and advantages in cultivating technical and skilled talents to the teachers and students of the four universities in the Soviet Union and Taiwan. He stated that the people of Taiwan and Nanjing have a special bond, and the college has been promoting mutual understanding and friendship between young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait through exchange visits and joint hosting of cross-strait activities. He hopes that students from both sides can continue to actively participate in exchange activities, fully demonstrate and sincerely communicate, and promote the continuation and development of friendship.
President Ge Zixiang of Longhua University of Science and Technology in Taiwan expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the organization of the event. He stated that the two schools have been closely related for a long time, and the distinctive development and intelligent transformation of Nanjing Jiaotong University in recent years are evident to all. He hopes that in the future, the two schools can strengthen communication and exchange, and make more beneficial explorations around teacher development and curriculum construction.
Vice President Wu Zhaozhe of Taipei Ocean Science and Technology University, Director Yin Xieqi of the Cross Strait Exchange Center of Longhua University of Science and Technology, and Director Guo Rongmei of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of the college made exchange speeches based on the characteristics of each school's education and the situation of innovation and entrepreneurship education; Student representatives from both Jiangsu and Taiwan, Tao Wenjing and Jiang Ruiting, also exchanged and shared ideas.
Measure Nanjing with your feet, feel Nanjing with your eyes and soul. During the event, representatives of teachers and students from Taiwan visited the national level virtual simulation training base of the Gongxing Building of the college, watched the college's promotional video, and showed great attention and interest in the college's beautiful campus environment, excellent teaching achievements, and intelligent training venues.
On the afternoon of July 29th, representatives of teachers and students from four schools also went to Ruizhikang Elderly Apartment in Jiangning District to carry out the 9th Cross Strait Youth Hand in Hand Public Welfare Tour voluntary elderly care service activity. They learned about the daily life, health status, and basic situation of the elderly in the apartment, and had friendly exchanges and interactions with them through music rehabilitation, flower arrangement, songs, and other methods, winning rounds of applause from the elderly. Teachers and students from four universities have expressed their willingness to contribute their modest efforts to provide care and nurturing for the elderly, and to demonstrate the responsibility of young people in the new era through public welfare practices.
The Enjoying Reading Jinling and Appreciating Transportation cultural experience activity for college students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait has been held twice. The project has brought young students from four schools across the Taiwan Strait closer, promoted cross Strait and cross university exchanges, broadened their horizons, and stimulated their thinking.
