Graduation begins with a song of joy, and youth sails far away. On the afternoon of June 28th, the college held a significant graduation ceremony for the 2023 international students in Room 223 of Hongyi Building. This is the first offline graduation ceremony for Chinese international students at the college in the past three years. The Party Secretary Jia Lili and Vice President Yang Yiming attended the ceremony. Representatives of relevant officials and teachers from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Student Affairs Office, and the School of Transportation Management, as well as representatives of students from the Silk Road University, as well as the class teacher and second class teacher of international students, attended the ceremony. The graduation ceremony was presided over by Vice President Yang Yiming.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the teachers and students watched three videos of foreign students' style display, including Laos Travel, Chinese Elements, Guiyuan Tianju, Hexi Corridor, and the video of foreign students' graduation speech, Thank NJITT, Goodbye NJITT. They reviewed the colorful campus life of the 2023 international students and felt their hard work and outstanding achievements in their studies at NJITT.
Secretary Jia Lili gave a passionate graduation speech. She fully affirmed the spirit of international students in overcoming various difficulties such as the epidemic, time difference, and the internet, persevering and striving to complete their studies. She praised the innovative online teaching carried out by the National Cooperative University and the Transportation Management College, and successfully completed the offline resumption work. Secretary Jia's heartfelt message to the 2023 graduates: firstly, he hopes that students can not only enjoy their youth but also love life. Embrace change with the vitality and broad mindedness of young people, seize opportunities, work diligently, and actively participate in the construction of international production capacity cooperation. Secondly, I hope that students can not only be enthusiastic about their own country, but also tell the story of China well, and become friendly ambassadors for conveying friendship between China and foreign countries, understanding China's friendship, and promoting people-to-people communication. The third is to hope that students not only face the future, but also not forget their alma mater. The school will always be a strong support and spiritual home for students to bravely move forward on the future path.
Indonesian student Johnny, speaking as the Valedictorian, recalled that when he participated in E-learning abroad, the teachers answered questions patiently and carefully. After returning to school, he immersively experienced the rich and colorful Chinese cultural activities that brought him novel feelings, and expressed that in his future life, he will never forget his mentor's teachings and continue to love and honor the school.
Zhu Lin, the homeroom teacher of the 2023 international student class, delivered a speech as a teacher representative, expressing her gratitude for the tireless efforts made by her classmates to ensure the quality of their lectures during the pandemic. She expressed her joy at the achievements made by everyone in actively adapting to the new environment and learning new knowledge after returning to school. She also wished graduates a happy graduation and a bright future.
Jiang Jun, the Dean of the School of Transportation Management, praised the excellent performance of international students over the past three years and reviewed the simulated live streaming sales competitions, the Chinese+Logistics professional skills international competition, and the graduation party of the School of Transportation Management that international students participated in after returning to school. He hoped that students could practice the school motto of unity of knowledge and action, and pursuing excellence in morality no matter where they go in the future.
In the beautiful melody of Jasminum sambac, Secretary Jia issued a graduation certificate for each international student, and President Yang presented graduation gifts to the students and took photos with them.
The 2023 international students presented flowers to the school leaders and teachers, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their alma mater and teachers, and expressed their willingness to remember their alma mater's earnest instructions and open a new chapter in their lives.
