The lion dance is an excellent Chinese folk art, also known as Taiping music in ancient times. The lion dance is divided between the north and the south, and the southern lion is also known as the lion dance.
The lion is made of colored cloth, and each lion is usually performed by two people, one dancing the head and one dancing the tail.
The performers dress up as dogs or other rui-beasts (such as braves and lions) under the music of gongs and drums, and make various movements in order to be festive and lucky. During the performance, the lion dancers have to perform various moves to show the southern martial arts, which is very masculine.
The lion dance is considered to be an auspicious object to ward off evil spirits and harm, and is always performed during festivals or major events.
This has become an important ritual to promote the power of the nation and establish the soul of China, as well as a cultural bridge for overseas compatriots to identify with their ancestors.
