The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is a mega cross-harbor tunnel connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, with a total length of 55 km, of which the main project bridge and tunnel in the sea is 35.578 km long and the undersea tunnel is about 6.75 km long, which will be the longest cross-harbor bridge in the world after completion. The HZMB immersed tube tunnel is the longest highway immersed tube tunnel in the world and the only deeply buried immersed tube tunnel in the world, with a series of innovations in production and installation technology, providing a unique sample and valuable experience for the world undersea tunnel engineering technology.
On December 15, 2009, the construction of the HZMB officially started. on July 7, 2017, the main project of the HZMB was completed; on the eve of New Year's Day 2018, the entire main project of the HZMB was lit up, marking the bridge's opening conditions; the HZMB is expected to be officially opened to traffic before July 1, 2018.
