On the morning of December 14, the opening ceremony and admission education for 2022 international students of the College were held in Room B203 of the Library. Zhang Yi, President, and Zhou Chuanlin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy attended the event. The leaders of the Basic Education Department (International Cooperation and Exchange Office) and the Student Affairs Office, the leadership of the School of Automotive Engineering and the School of Transportation Management, teachers' representatives, and staff of the Joint Office of the State Council attended the ceremony. Representatives of 2022 freshmen and overseas veterans attended the ceremony.
The activity is conducted online and offline. The participating teachers and students watched the Nanjing Jiaoyuan Publicity Film to understand the school's achievements and feel the strong humanistic environment and learning atmosphere of the school. The 2022 freshmen introduced themselves and their country with a short video of Hello NJITT, displayed a positive and open spirit, expressed their yearning for school and love of Chinese culture, and hoped to find good teachers and friends in learning and life here.
The teacher representative, Liu Yiguan, from the Automotive Engineering Institute, said that the school's teaching team had made all the preparations for students' normal life and study after entering the school. The teachers would adhere to the school motto of unity of knowledge and practice, and moral integrity, carry forward the spirit of innovation, unity and progress, and become life mentors and confidants of students.
The representative of the old students, Johnny, an Indonesian international student, shared that he felt the care of teachers and students after entering the school, and said that he not only mastered solid professional knowledge, but also appreciated the charm of Chinese culture through learning. We look forward to seeing younger brothers and sisters in the future as promised and sharing the beauty of Nanjing Jiaotong College.
Wang Jenny, a new student from Thailand, said that with China's growing international influence, she knows more about China and loves Chinese culture, such as Chinese and Hanfu. After learning online courses, I was even more impressed by the teachers' dedication and professionalism. I look forward to returning to school as soon as possible and becoming the messenger of China Thailand friendship.
President Zhang Yi fully affirmed the work of the organizing department to overcome the impact of the epidemic, innovate the learning methods of international students in China, and ensure the learning of international students in China, and delivered a welcoming speech for the 2022 level international students in China. He sent his message to overseas students in China: First, they should cultivate an international perspective, have a family and country feeling, and take the initiative to become practitioners and participants of the international perspective; Second, we should cherish learning opportunities and become the builders and promoters of the the Belt and Road Initiative; Third, we should feel the unique charm of Chinese civilization and become a disseminator of Chinese culture, a witness and defender of the deep friendship between the two countries.
The activity ended in a happy screen shot. At the end of the activity, the head teacher of the foreign students gave admission education to the students in all classes. The foreign students had a warm interaction with the teachers, thanked the school and teachers for their messages, expressed their expectation and confidence for professional learning in the future, and felt the charm of Nanjing and the school.
At the opening ceremony, the appointment ceremony of the foreign students' head teacher and the second head teacher was held at the same time. President Zhang issued letters of appointment for the foreign students' head teacher and the second head teacher to encourage them.
