In the afternoon of November 23, the 7th award activity of Cross Strait Youth Join Hands for Public Welfare and the cultural exchange of reading a book together between Chinese and foreign students were held in the library B203. Zhou Chuanlin, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, attended the activity. The International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, the Youth League Committee, the Department of Humanities and Arts, and teachers, award-winning students, students of the Silk Road College, and international students participated in the activity. The activity was hosted by Yuan Qian, director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Bai Tianxuan, a teacher of Chinese as a foreign language. It was conducted online and offline.
The participating teachers and students observed the award-winning works of colleges and universities across the Taiwan Straits. The event was held by the joint meeting of the presidents of higher vocational education in Jiangsu and Taiwan, and co hosted by Jiangsu and Taiwan universities. As one of the organizers, the college has submitted 77 excellent entries to the organizing committee this time, including 4 first prizes, 11 second prizes, 15 third prizes, 47 excellent prizes, and 6 works won prizes in the finals of the organizing committee. The on-site teachers and students also watched the award-winning work Lao Travel I v. Chinese Elements by foreign students in the Search for Chinese Elements cultural exchange activity, and felt the achievements of China's assistance to Laos in the the Belt and Road transportation construction and the elegance of overseas students.
In the activity of reading a book together for Chinese and foreign students, foreign students from Indonesia, Laos and Bangladesh, representatives of students from the Silk Road College, as well as students from the radio station and the Chinese Studies Society, performed five classical poems on the screen, including Qinyuan Spring · Snow and Love Life, which received warm responses from teachers and students on the scene.
Deputy Secretary Zhou Chuanlin affirmed the efforts of the organizing department to overcome the impact of the epidemic and actively innovate the cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign students, congratulated the award-winning students of the Cross Strait Youth Join Hands for Public Welfare, and praised the Chinese and foreign students who participated in the One Book activity. He sent a message to overseas students in China to cherish the opportunity to study Chinese and learn skills, and hoped that Chinese and foreign students would actively participate in cross-cultural exchanges, spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture, enhance the recognition, respect and tolerance of the world's multiculturalism, and enhance trust and friendship between Chinese and foreign youth.
The leaders and teachers present at the meeting awarded prizes and certificates to the award-winning units and individuals of the Excellent Organization Award to show encouragement, and the activity ended in a warm atmosphere.
