Yancheng, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, is one of the 27 cities in the central region of the Yangtze River Delta. It is located in the eastern coastal region of China, in the middle of Jiangsu Province, bordering the Yellow Sea to the east, Nantong to the south, Yangzhou and Taizhou to the southwest, Huaian to the northwest, and Lianyungang to the north across the irrigation river. Yancheng has a total land area of 16,931 square kilometers, including 4,553 square kilometers of coastal mudflats. Yancheng has the only World Natural Heritage Site of migratory birds in the Yellow (Bohai) Sea in Jiangsu. Yancheng has convenient transportation by land, sea and air, and has basically formed a three-dimensional transportation network with highways, railroads, airlines, shipping and inland waterways. Nanyang International Airport, Yancheng Port Dafeng Port, Binhai Port, Sheyang Port, and Ringshui Port have become the first-class open ports of the country, and Yancheng City has become a prefecture-level city with two first-class open ports of airports and seaports at the same time.
