Chapter 1 Admissions
Article 1 Our school provides academic education and non-academic education for international students. The category of academic education is specialist students; the category of non-academic education is language students.
Article 2 The enrollment targets of international students are overseas high school graduates, and may also admit international students who meet the requirements and are transferred from other schools in China.
Article 3 The International Cooperation and Exchange Office shall be responsible for the enrollment and admission of international students, and shall complete the formulation of the enrollment guidelines, the examination of the admission qualifications and the reporting of the list of international students to be admitted to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education in accordance with laws and regulations.
Article 4 The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange shall submit the list of international students to the Academic Affairs Office, the Finance Office and the Student Affairs Office.
Chapter 2 Enrollment and Registration
Article 5 International students who have been admitted to our school must hold the Notice of Admission to Nanjing Vocational Institute of Transport Technology and the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China (Form JW202) and go to the International Cooperation and Exchange Office for the following admission procedures on schedule:
(1) Fill in the Enrollment Registration Form for Foreign Students;
(2) Submit and verify your passport, visa or residence permit for foreigners in China, the Admission Notice, the Visa Registration Form for Foreign Students studying in China (Form JW202) and the Records of Physical Examination of Foreigners;
Article 6 International students transferred to our school from other institutions in China must hold the Transfer Certificate issued by the management department of the international students of the original school, and the remaining enrollment procedures are required to be the same as Article 5.
Article 7 Those who fail to go through the enrollment procedures on time shall be deemed to have abandoned their admission qualifications. Those who are unable to apply for the enrollment procedures as scheduled due to force majeure must apply for an extension of registration to the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange in writing, e-mail or fax, and the extension of registration shall not exceed two weeks.
Article 8 After admission, new students of international students shall go to Jiangsu International Health Travel Health Center for physical examination in accordance with the regulations, and those who fail the physical examination shall be disqualified from admission and leave the country within a time limit. If the diagnosis of the tertiary grade A or above hospital confirms that the health standards can be reached within one year, the applicant may apply for it, and with the approval of the school, retain the enrollment qualification for one year and return to homeland for treatment, and the expenses incurred shall be borne by the applicant.
Students who retain their admission qualifications do not have student status. Those who have been treated and recovered during the period of retaining their enrollment qualifications shall apply to the school for admission and re-apply for enrollment after being reviewed by the health and quarantine department of China with the certificate issued by the tertiary grade A and above hospital; those who fail to pass the re-examination or fail to go through the enrollment procedures after the review are cancelled.
Article 9 New students of international students shall pay tuition fees, accommodation fees and other fees for the first academic year to the school within 15 working days from the date of registration. If students receive a national, provincial or school-level scholarship, they will pay the fee in accordance with the corresponding scholarship policy. Only after passing the entrance examination and paying the fees in accordance with the regulations can they register for student status and apply for a residence permit.
Article 10 International students who have studied in our school for more than one semester shall return to school according to the registration date notified at the end of the last semester, submit their student cards and residence permits for foreigners in China for checking, and go through the registration procedures at the International Cooperation and Exchange Office (Registration can only be done after paying the due fees for the current academic year within two weeks of the first semester of each academic year).
Those who are unable to register as scheduled for any reason must complete the leave procedures, no ask for leave in advance will be counted as truancy (one day of absenteeism is counted as six class hours).
Failure to pay fees in accordance with the school regulations or other non-compliance with the registration requirements will not be registered. Those who do not go through the registration procedures within two weeks of the deadline shall be automatically withdrawn.
Chapter 3 Student Status and Teaching Management
Article 11 The student status of international students shall be managed by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. The duration of study for academic students is three years, and the duration of study for language students is one year.
Article 12 Language trainees shall use Chinese language teaching. International students with academic qualifications shall use English or Chinese teaching, and international students whose teaching language is Chinese must pass the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 to enter professional study; international students with a teaching language of English must pass the English proficiency test organized by our school and pass the test to enter professional study.
Article 13 International students shall complete each course within the prescribed time and complete the requirements of teaching activities as well as internship training within the prescribed time in accordance with the requirements of the professional talent training program, and complete the teaching hours and credit requirements specified in the talent training program.
Article 14 The relevant professional faculties and departments may appropriately adjust the proportion of compulsory courses and elective courses for international students according to specific circumstances, but the total credit hours shall be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the school. International students can be exempted from political courses and do not participate in military training and labor classes.
Article 15 Student grades are composed of usual grades and final exam scores, and the usual grades include students' attendance, classroom performance, homework after class, usual tests, and midterm exam results. International students who fail the exam can take the make-up exam or apply for a retake in accordance with the relevant regulations of the school.
Article 16 International students must take the examination of the course they have taken, and if they are unable to take the examination for any reason, they must leave in advance and apply for postponement, and can take the supplementary examination after approval. Those who do not take the test without asking for leave or without permission for leave will be counted as zero points. Postponement procedures for supplementary examinations after the fact are invalid.
Article 17 The postponement of the examination due to illness must have a hospital emergency certificate, and general chronic diseases cannot be used as a reason for postponement.
Article 18 The results of the course assessment shall be recorded on a 100-point system (or a five-level scoring system), and only those who obtain 60 points or above (or pass the five-level scoring system or above) can obtain the credits of the course. Course credits and grades are recorded in student’s file.
Article 19 Those who fail the examination must take the school make-up examination. Those who do not take the make-up exam or fail the make-up exam must be retaken, and the elective courses can be selected from other prescribed courses, or the courses can be retaken. Those who fail the examination after re-studying one or more courses will be treated as completion.
Article 20 International students must strictly abide by the discipline of the examination room during the examination. If there is cheating, the test score will be counted as zero points, and the punishment will be given in accordance with the Provisions on Disciplinary Punishment of Students of Nanjing Vocational Institute of Transport Technology.
Article 21 International students who violate school discipline and school rules shall be punished according to the seriousness of the circumstances, such as criticism, warnings, serious warnings, and expulsion, and shall be recorded in their own study files. When an international student is expelled from the school, it shall be reported to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education for the record; if it is a Scholarship Funder of a Chinese or foreign government, the result of the expulsion sanction shall be reported to the State Scholarship Administration Committee at the same time.
Chapter 4 Suspension, Transfer, and Withdrawal
Article 22 During the period of study, international students may submit applications for suspension, transfer or withdrawal, and handle them in accordance with regulations after approval. International students who request suspension, transfer or withdrawal should submit an application before the end of their semester and will not be accepted after the deadline.
Article 23 International students shall not be employed or engage in activities unrelated to convalescence in China during the period of suspension due to accidents or illness, and shall not violate Chinese laws and school rules, otherwise their qualifications for resuming school will be cancelled.
Article 24 International students who have been suspended from school shall not apply for examinations to other schools in China, nor shall they apply for transfer.
Article 25 International students who are unable to study at the school due to personal reasons or are not suitable for studying at the school may apply for transfer.
Article 26 International students who have any of the following circumstances shall be withdrawn from the school:
(1) Where their academic achievements do not meet the requirements of the school or they fail to complete their studies within the number of years prescribed by the school (including suspension);
(2) Where the suspension period has expired, and no application for reinstatement has been submitted within the time limit prescribed by the school, or the application for reinstatement has failed the re-examination;
(3) After being diagnosed by a hospital designated by the school, suffering from illness or accidental disability and being unable to continue studying at the school;
(4) Absenteeism in a semester totaling 30 hours (inclusive), or not taking part in teaching activities prescribed by the school for a total of two weeks (inclusive) or more without taking leave of absence;
(5) Where the number of vacations in a semester reaches more than one-third (inclusive) of the semester time and no application for suspension is made;
(6) Failing to register beyond the time limit prescribed by the school without a legitimate reason;
(7) Arrears in fees, and still not paid the fees within 1 month from the date of the reminder of fees;
(8) Applying for withdrawal from school in person;
(9) Those who are not within the scope of the preceding provisions, but violate the relevant provisions of the school, shall be withdrawn from school.
Article 27 The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange shall submit opinions on the handling of the withdrawal of international students and notify the students themselves, cancel their student status, and report to the Academic Affairs Office for the record.
International students who apply for withdrawal from the school themselves must submit a written application, which shall be reviewed and approved by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and after the processing of the student status of the student information network is completed, the relevant withdrawal procedures shall be handled and reported to the Academic Affairs Office for the record. If a retired scholar receives a scholarship, it shall be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Article 28 When an international student withdraws from school and spends less than one semester on campus, the tuition and accommodation fees for the current academic year shall be refunded in proportion (settled in RMB, the same below); if the study time reaches one semester (inclusive) or more, the tuition and accommodation fees for the current academic year shall not be refunded.
Chapter 5 Completion and Graduation
Article 29 International students who have completed the prescribed contents of the talent training program during the study period, passed the grades, and met the graduation requirements shall be allowed to graduate and a graduation certificate shall be issued.
Article 30 International students who have completed the contents of the talent training program within the period of study, but do not meet the graduation requirements, shall be allowed to complete the course and be issued a certificate of completion.
Article 31 For majors with Chinese as the language of instruction, international students must obtain the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 5 certificate upon graduation; For majors with English as the language of instruction, international students must obtain a Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 certificate upon graduation.
Article 32 Language international students who complete the courses specified in the training plan and pass the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 at the same time shall be awarded a certificate of completion of the language class.
Chapter 6 Entry-Exit and Residence Procedures
Article 33 The entry, exit and residence procedures for international students shall be handled with the assistance of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
Article 34 When going through the enrollment registration procedures, international students shall hold a valid passport and an X or related visa in accordance with the regulations on entry-exit administration.
Article 35 International students temporarily leaving China during their studies shall be subject to the approval of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
Article 35 After graduation, completion or withdrawal from school, international students shall leave China within the prescribed time. For international students who have been expelled from school, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office shall promptly notify the Exit-Entry Administration Department of the Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau and supervise them to handle short-term stays in accordance with the law and leave the country within a time limit.
Chapter 7 Management of International Student Activities
Article 36 After the enrollment of international students, the school shall educate and manage their activities in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the State and the rules and regulations of the school.
Article 37 International students shall abide by the laws and regulations of our country and the rules and regulations and disciplines of the school, and respect the social morality and customs and habits of our country.
Article 38 With the approval of the School, international students may establish a friendship group in the school and act within the scope of the laws and regulations of our country, and obey the leadership and management of the School.
Article 39 International students shall not establish cross-school or cross-regional organizations. Without the approval of the school, international students are not allowed to participate in cross-school and cross-regional activities.
Article 40 The school respects the ethnic customs and religious beliefs of international students, but does not provide a place for religious ceremonies. Any form of religious activity such as missionary work and religious gatherings is strictly prohibited in the public areas of the campus.
Article 41 With the approval of the School, international students may hold activities to celebrate the important traditional festivals of their own nationalities in the places and scope designated by the school, but they shall not have words or deeds that obstruct or attack other countries or ethnic groups or violate public morality.
Article 42 International students shall not be employed, do business, or engage in other business activities during their study at the school, but may participate in work-study activities in accordance with the provisions of the school.
Article 43 The social management of international students shall be the responsibility of the relevant administrative departments of the government, and the school shall actively cooperate with them.
Chapter 8 Supplementary Provisions
Article 44 These Provisions shall apply to international students studying at Nanjing Vocational Institute of Transport Technology.
Article 45 The matters not covered by these Provisions shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of the relevant documents of the School, and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange shall be responsible for interpretation.
Article 46These Provisions are to be implemented as of the date of promulgation.
